I had a special merit today to be invited personally by Rabbi Dov Kook shlit"a of Tiberias (Tevria), Israel, to meet with him privately.
Rabbi Kook is a great Tzaddik, a great Rabbi who one senses lives in this physical world in a spiritual sense. One can actually see holiness on him. Literally all day and all night he is immersed in prayer and learning of the Torah. He fasts daily and sleeps very, very little.
I never met the Rav before, but the meeting touched me deeply and his message to me I thought is a message to all, no matter what our religions are, so I thought to share it with my LinkedIn friends.
The Rav said, referring to what I do (even though I am a simple person) in my trying to help bridge the Jewish and Muslim worlds is, "Not only an honor (Kavod) for me, but an honor (Kavod) for the entire world."
It showed me how we can all do even a small positive action and that action can have an affect on way beyond our imagination, even to the whole world.
We can all affect this world for the better in our business and personal lives and we can all make a difference.
I also learned from being in the presence of the Rav today, how even if we live in a physical world and we have to be involved of course in our livelihoods and that is important, but to also focus on the spiritual parts of our lives as well, which is also so important.
